The
construction and operation of the Alleghent
Railroad was one of the greatest engineering
feats of the 19th century. Hands-on
exhibits and full-scale models in the
Engine House Interpretive Building will
intrigue visitors of all ages. Forested
trails line the railroad and picnic
areas, hiking trails, cross-country,
skiing trails and ranger-led programs
make this attraction one you will want
to visit over and over. Be sure to stop
by the restored Lemon House Tavern,
too! Gallitzin Exit off U.S. Route 22,
Cresson.
